Class Schedule for Professor Prettyman's Class

April 15
Things we could cover:
  • Small group hands-on time with the SMARTBoard
  • Movies in the classroom -- Play with the Flip Video camera and create a short movie with Movie Maker
  • Blogs & Wikis -- Sign up for a blogger.com account & create a blog; add content to a wiki at wikispaces.com
  • Web 2.0 Tools -- Create a podcast using Freecorder, Add pictures to software that will create a movie trailer, Spell words with pictures from Flickr, Create a social bookmarking page using Delicious & explore other free web 2.0 tools
  • Gradebook Software -- Explore how to create a class in gradebook complete with students, assignments and adding grades using free software

My thought is that you could choose two items on the list and spend 30 minutes exploring each one. There would be a few pre-class items that you would be responsible to do before class since we have just one hour together.

So two questions for you:
1. If you had to choose two of the items on the list above which ones would you choose?
2. Do you have a laptop that you could bring to class on the 15th? If so, do you know that you can access the Internet via the NU network on this laptop?

Please send an email to me at lynette.sorenson@northwestu.edu and send me the answers to the two questions above. Next week I will send an email to all of you with the results and a more detailed plan of how you can prepare for the sessions that you will be attending. Please include your name in the email. If you have other things that you would like to cover during our time together or have any questions please don't hesitate to email me at lynette.sorenson@northwestu.edu.
