- Create a blog at blogger.com and add your first entry as well as links to two of your favorite web sites
- Add content to a wiki including a link to your favorite web site
- If possible a laptop with access to the Internet
- URLs to your favorite web sites
Before class:
- Look at the two educational blogs and one wiki listed as examples below
- Spend 15 minutes looking at two of the Education Blogs on sidebar of this blog
During class use the handout called "How to Create a Blog Using Blogger.com to do the following:
- Create a blogger.com account
- Click on Settings Tab and change settings as desired
- Click on Posting Tab and create your first post including a title (this can be about anything....)
- Click on the Layout Tab and explore the possible page elements that you can add
- Add a list of your favorite web pages following the steps under "To add a list list". Be sure to save your work - If you have time add a comment to the blog of one of your classmates (you will need to share your address)
- Go to this wiki (http://educ3302web2.wikispaces.com) and add a comment or two to the page as well as the link to a couple of websites
After Class:
- Think about how you could use a blog or wiki in your classroom. What kind of projects could you have your students do? What resources would you need?
